Dr. Dirk Markus is a Founding Partner of the AURELIUS Group.

In 2005 Dirk co-founded AURELIUS and has since grown the business into a globally active alternative investment firm focussed on Private Equity, Private Debt and Real Estate with over EUR 15 billion in group revenues and over 300 professionals working across 10 offices.

In 1995, Dirk started his career with McKinsey & Company. As a management consultant and project manager, he focussed on process optimization and digitization as well as restructuring topics.

Dirk studied business administration in St. Gallen, Switzerland, and Copenhagen as a scholar of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung) and was awarded a PhD by St. Gallen. During his PhD studies, he spent a term as Visiting Research Fellow at Harvard University.

He is a member of the board of Trustees of the START Foundation, providing scholarships to gifted children with a migration background.
