Duco Sickinghe co-founded Fortino Capital in December 2013 and has played a pivotal role in shaping the firm into a leading investor in B2B software and technology across Western Europe. With decades of leadership experience, Duco brings deep strategic insight and a strong focus on empowering management teams to scale effectively.
With decades of leadership experience in both industry and private equity, Duco brings a deep understanding of strategy, leadership, and value creation. At Fortino, he works closely with portfolio company executives and investment teams, providing guidance on performance management, marketing, and long-term strategic direction.
Before founding Fortino, Duco built a distinguished career in the TMT sector. He served as CEO of Telenet from 2001 to 2013 and held board positions including Independent Non-Executive Director at Central European Media Enterprises (CME) and Chairman of the Board at KPN. Early in his career, he worked at NeXT Computer alongside Steve Jobs, an experience that shaped his long-standing passion for technology, innovation, and leadership. Duco is a frequent speaker on leadership as a key driver of business performance and organizational success.
He is a board member of Van Eeghen & Co (Functional Ingredients), Van Breda Risks & Benefits and Vlerick Business School.
Duco holds a degree in Civil and Commercial Law and obtained an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Duco is fluent in Dutch (native), English, French and German.
