Dr. Gerhard Bauer is Head of Private Markets Investment Specialists for DACH at UBS’s Unified Global Alternatives, based in Zurich. UGA combines the manager selection capabilities from across UBS’s Asset Management and Global Wealth Management businesses to serve the needs of its UHNW, institutional and wholesale clients globally. In his current role, he leads a team of private market investment specialists dedicated to helping clients build institutional-quality private markets portfolios. He brings 26 years of experience in alternative investments, including nine years with UBS. Before joining UBS in 2016, he worked as an independent consultant to private markets funds, specializing in due diligence preparation and investor relations. Previously, Gerhard spent 14 years at Allianz Capital Partners, the private markets investment arm of Allianz SE. As Investment Director, he was a member of the global investment committee and led due diligence on primary, secondary, and co-investment opportunities across Europe, the US, and Asia. In this capacity, he also represented Allianz on numerous fund advisory boards.
