Holcombe Green is the global head of the Private Capital Advisory business at Lazard. Private Capital Advisory includes Lazard’s businesses in the fundraising, secondary and private placement markets across the private debt, private equity, real assets and real estate markets. The Private Capital Advisory business is a leading advisor to financial sponsors and institutional investors in these markets and operates from seven offices in the US, Europe and Asia. Holcombe has been involved in hundreds of capital raising assignments for private investment firms, aggregating over $250 billion of capital for these clients.
Prior to joining Lazard in 2004, Holcombe was an investment banker at Merrill Lynch in New York, where he advised corporate clients in the technology, industrial and consumer industries on a variety of strategic and financing transactions. Holcombe was also previously Director of Corporate Development for IBM Corporation, responsible for business development initiatives related to IBM Global Services, the largest division of IBM. He began his career as a member of the Washington, D.C. staff of United States Senator Sam Nunn.
Holcombe holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Dickinson College and an M.P.P.M from the Yale School of Management. He graduated from The Taft School and Clifton College (in Bristol, UK). Holcombe is a trustee of Dickinson College. He is the co-chair of the advisory board of the Yale International Center for Finance, the financial research institute of the Yale School of Management. He was a long-time trustee of The Taft School, a prior trustee of the British American Educational Foundation, the development chair for St. James’ Church in New York, among other philanthropic endeavors in New York.
