Profile
Jerrold M. Newman (jnewman@willowridge.com) is the President and Founder of Willowridge Partners, Inc. The firm buys limited partnership interests in venture capital and buyout funds from limited partners who want liquidity prior to the end of the life of a fund. One of the areas of concentration is buying older interests as well as tag ends assets from older funds allowing the funds to terminate.
Having started in 1995, Willowridge is managing its nineth fund; the capital is from endowments, foundations, financial institutions and high net worth investors. The firm has acquired interests in over 2,500 funds and private companies from a variety of sellers including pension funds, banks, corporations, and individuals.
Mr. Newman has been investing in funds and middle-market deals for more than 30 years. He is a certified public accountant in New York State; he began his career at Price Waterhouse and later moved to Booz, Allen & Hamilton as part of the firm’s acquisition advisory practice. Mr. Newman made his first purchase of a secondary interest in 1989. He received a B.S. from Cornell in 1976 and, in 1980, an M.B.A. from The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
