Johannes Minho Roth is the Co-Head of Unified Global Alternatives for UBS, based in Zurich. He oversees the development and management of alternative investment strategies across asset classes, including hedge funds, private equity, credit, real estate, and infrastructure investments. Johannes leads efforts in sourcing, structuring, risk management, and product innovation to foster growth in the alternative space.
Before joining UBS, he founded FiveT Group, where he launched and managed its flagship hedge fund, overseeing investment totalling approximately USD 100 billion. He also crested Avaloq Ventures AG, a Fintech VC joint venture, and founded Five T Hydrogen AG, which operates the world's largest green hydrogen infrastructure fund through a joint venture called Hy24.
Johannes co-founded Insilico Biotechnology AG in 2006 and served on its Board of Directors until its sale in 2021. He also served on the Board of Directors of Plug Power Inc. and Gevo Inc. until 2021.
He began his career as a full-time equity specialist trader at Baader Bank on the German stock exchange (1999-2006).
