Profile
As founder, investor, and manager Jörg has strong Private Equity and VC background and a close-knit network in the German and European Private Markets community. Jörg runs KfW Capital, one of the largest LPs in European Venture, as CEO. Previous stations of his career include Metzler, The Boston Consulting Group, BNP Paribas, Cerberus and Blackstone. Jörg holds a PhD in finance and diploma in electrical engineering and economics.
As a subsidiary of KfW banking group (the world’s largest development bank, German state owned) KfW Capital invests in European VC-funds. We aim to commit our capital to the best performing VC-funds from a risk/return perspective alongside other mandate requirements. Since it’s inception in 2018, KfW Capital has committed over €2.4bn into c. 130 VC-funds, financing thereby over 2.400 innovative start-ups and fast growing tech companies. In 2023 KfW Capital launched the Wachstumsfonds Deutschland, a €1bn VC fund-of-funds with large institutional investors and large single family offices as LPs. In 2024 KfW Capital has published its first ESG report based on quantitative research from its VC-portfolios. KfW Capital has a team of c. 100 dedicated professionals.
