Matthias Wilcken

Senior Partner & Member of the Executive Committee at Rivean Capital

Matthias Wilcken joined Rivean Capital in 2012 and initially managed mainly German transactions from the Zurich office before he established the office in Frankfurt in 2019 - the team there now has nine investment professionals. From 2008 to 2012, he was responsible for financing private equity investments in companies such as Minimax, Casa Reha und SAG.

He started his professional career at Goldman Sachs in London (2002-2008). As Senior Partner, he is part of Rivean Capital’s three-person Executive Committee and a permanent Advisory Member of the Investment Committee.

In the past ten years, he has actively accompanied and advised numerous Rivean Capital investments in Germany. The focus is on owner-managed medium-sized companies (“hidden champions”), which Rivean accompanies and supports in their digital transformation, international growth and their focus on sustainability. Outstanding investments already completed include Pro Gamers Group (e-commerce provider of high-end equipment for the gaming community, 2018- 2021) and training provider Comcave (2014-2019). Amongst other things, Matthias is currently advising on Rivean’s investment ]init[ AG for digital communication and Rivean’s recent signing Green Mobility Holding (GMH), one of Europe’s leading technology-based (e-)bike leasing groups
