R. David Andrews is the Founder and Co-CEO of Gryphon Investors, a San Francisco-based, middle-market private equity (PE) firm. Founded in 1995, Gryphon currently has three fund strategies and ~$11bn AUM. Within North American PE, Gryphon is widely recognized as a true pioneer in building an in-house operations group, consisting of former operating company CEOs/Presidents and functional specialists, including the disciplines of artificial intelligence and organizational development. Gryphon’s unique full integration of specialized deal and operations experts, which begins at origination and extends across the entire deal life cycle, has achieved ten successful exits since 2023 amidst challenging M&A market conditions.

Previously, David was a Managing Director/Partner of Oak Hill Partners. Over his career, he has served on the boards of over fifty companies in a broad range of industries within the business services, consumer, healthcare, industrial growth, and technology solutions/service sectors. David’s current philanthropic activities are focused on U.S. Veterans, foster care children, wildlife conservation, and global climate change. David earned a BA, JD, and MBA from Stanford University.
