Kiichiro DeLuca is a Partner in the venture capital team at WERU Investment, the first and oldest university affiliated venture capital focused asset management firm in Japan. At WERU Investment, Kiichiro leads the firm’s investment research and early-stage venture capital investment activities in the US in various deep tech domains. He also serves on the board of several portfolio companies.

Kiichiro began his career as an aerospace engineer supporting a number of spaceflight projects at NASA/JPL and in industry and academia in the US and Japan in the areas of mechanical systems and guidance, navigation, and control of spacecraft. Prior to venture capital, he led cross-border technology driven business development for early- and late-stage technology startups in San Francisco and Tokyo.

Kiichiro holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering with Highest Honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is concurrently an adjunct researcher at Waseda University in the Waseda Intellectual Capital Research Society.
