Kunio Kamoi is Chief Manager of Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation (MUTB) where he is responsible for selecting and monitoring Private Assets globally, such as Private Equity and Private Debt, as an advisor and a gatekeeper to corporate pension funds and institutional investors in Japan.
He also leads and manages distinctive Fund of Funds primarily focusing on Private Equity area, drawing on his experience from his long-time career and leveraging a strong relationship with fund managers and related advisors.
Prior to joining MUTB in 2021, he worked at The Bank of Yokohama for over 20 years in Japan and New York where he was engaged in various banking and securities businesses, including principal investments and pension investments in Private Assets.
He has been involved in setting up an investment framework and platform, investing in single funds and managing a portfolio construction extensively across Private Equity, Private Debt and Real Assets including Infrastructure.
He received Bachelor’s Degree of Economics from Yokohama National University.
