Mattias is Director and Head of Sales. He graduated from Stockholm University with an MA in Japanese Studies and is one of those few people here in Japan who despite growing up elsewhere, possesses native level language skills. He is an active US Certified Public Accountant license holder, for which he completed his studies in Japan and in Japanese, and he is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).

In addition to overseeing the general sales effort, Mattias’ core client base is the major financial institutions (banks, trust banks, insurance companies) and asset management companies with whom he liaises with in Japanese. He leads the institutional coverage team whose primary product focus is on alternative funds, from closed ended private assets focused closed ended funds to more liquid, hedge funds. Because of his excellent understanding of investment strategies and his fluency in both English and Japanese, both our clients and our sales staff often rely ln him to provide a deeper, more nuanced insight on the funds they are reviewing.

Originally from Australia, Mattias speaks three languages fluently: English, Swedish and Japanese.
