Frances Ames is a Partner & Director with Ajeej Capital based in Dubai, where she has worked since 2008. Ajeej Capital, founded in 2007, is a leading independent asset manager in the MENA region with public equity, fixed income, private capital, and venture-oriented funds on its platform. It is the oldest independent asset manager in the MENA region today. Frances leads the research function at Ajeej across platforms, with a focus on developing innovative methods of evaluating companies on both their financial and non-financial merits, particularly over longer investment horizons. A fluent Arabic speaker, Frances spent 2006-2008 immersed full time in advanced Arabic language study as a fellow of the Fulbright-affiliated CASA program at the American University in Cairo. From 2003-2006, Frances worked for Cornerstone Research, a leading consulting firm based in Washington, D.C. that advises on complex financial and business litigation. At Cornerstone she developed statistical models for price prediction in the financial and natural resources markets and built complex multivariate regression models to predict IPO allocations to asset managers.
