Luca Barbi

Since 2019, Luca Barbi has served as a General Partner and COO at STV, the largest technology venture capital fund in the MENA region, managing over $1.2 billion in assets under management (AUM). At STV, Luca leads the firm’s ongoing development efforts, playing a key role in market research initiatives, authoring the STV Insight Reports, and supervising their publication. He is a member of the investment committee, where he has contributed to over 40 investment decisions and serves as a board member for several portfolio companies.

Before joining STV, Luca Barbi accumulated over 15 years of experience in leading management consulting and transaction advisory firms, where he advised organizations and investors across Europe and the Middle East in various sectors.

Before STV, Mr. Barbi was a core member of the Corporate Development and Consumer Goods practices at BCG, serving as a Principal at its Middle East headquarters. His work focused on advising sovereign wealth funds (SWFs) and private equity (PE) firms on investment strategies and transactions, while also helping high-potential companies develop growth strategies and implementation plans.

Mr. Barbi worked at BCG Milan from 2005 to 2007 in the Middle East offices from 2009 to 2013, and again from 2015 to 2019. Before BCG, he spent two years in the Transaction Services division at PwC Milan.

Mr. Barbi holds an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York, a Master’s in Merchant Banking from LIUC University in Italy, and a BA in Finance and Economics from Bologna University in Italy.
