Max has been with the Actis Long Life Infrastructure Fund (ALLIF) team since it was originally established in 2017 and has been focusing on infrastructure and energy investments for the past two decades. Throughout his career, Max has worked on 18 transactions that closed with an aggregate value of c. US$12 billion across North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Max joined Actis in a global role, working across the firm’s New York, London, and Dubai offices, and has been a member of the deal team of five Actis investments across the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. In 2020, Max saw an opportunity to focus on the Middle East & Africa and has since been leading origination and execution in the region on behalf of ALLIF. Max also led the development of Actis’ investment thesis in the District Energy sector, and he originated and led the firm’s investment in Emicool, Actis’ first investment in the sector and the UAE and one of the firm’s largest investments to date. In addition, Max has supported the development of internal Actis initiatives, such as two Strategic Reviews, Investment Risk Framework, Industrial Advisor Network, Actis Acts, and the Associate Program.
Prior to joining Actis, Max spent five years at EQT Infrastructure working closely with ALLIF1 Fund Head, Glen Matsumoto. Before EQT, he focused on private equity investments at Quantum Energy Partners. In these roles, Max was responsible for sourcing new investments, leading due diligence, structuring and financing transactions, asset management, evaluating and recruiting management and board candidates, and ultimately exiting investments.
Max has completed executive education courses at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with emphases in Finance and International Business from the University of Arizona, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.
