Michael Burt founded Promethean in 2005, a SEC and FCA-regulated firm with offices in the U.S. & U.K. Based in Virginia Beach since 2014, Promethean specializes in growth equity, structured capital, and buyouts of high-growth, tech-enabled businesses, particularly focusing on transatlantic opportunities in entertainment and hospitality. Since inception, the firm has successfully partnered with Apollo, Carlyle, and Blackstone on deals that Promethean originated. Notably, Promethean played a key role in bringing Puttshack and Flight Club, two successful entertainment concepts, to the U.S. Previously, Michael led Private Equity at Collins Stewart and served as Investment Director at Ellerman Investments. He started his career at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson in the PE Group and is a former Scotland U18 rugby player, interests include golf, skiing and kite surfing.
