Mirza is a Founding Partner of Ruya Partners with over 28 years of global investing and investment banking experience from the U.S., UK, Asia and the MENA region.

Before establishing Ruya Partners, Mirza established and led the private credit business of Waha Capital in Abu Dhabi. Before Waha Capital, Mirza was HSBC’s Head of Corporate Finance and Head of Commercial Banking Origination for the MENA region.

Mirza also worked in the London office of HSBC as Head of Direct Principal Investments for Europe and the Middle East. He was responsible for managing private equity investments and originated and led transactions in partnership with major financial sponsors. Before joining HSBC, Mirza spent 11 years with Credit Suisse (and with Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette or DLJ before its merger with Credit Suisse) in various roles, including Managing Director of the European Special Situations Group and as an investment banker across the firm’s London and Los Angeles offices. Mirza also served in a CFO role with Educational Media & Publishing Group International (EMPGI) and was one of the founding team members of the London office of GSO Capital Partners (which subsequently became part of The Blackstone Group).

Mirza holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics with concentrations in Finance and Accounting from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, graduating with Honors (Summa Cum Laude).
