Rashid is the Founding Partner of Ruya Partners, an ESG oriented Emerging Market’s focused Private Credit firm headquartered out of Abu Dhabi Global Markets, UAE. Rashid has over 25 years of direct investing and investment banking experience accumulated in the U.S. and Emerging Markets. Prior to establishing Ruya Partners in 2020, Rashid spent the prior 12 years in leadership roles (at Waha Capital and NBK Capital Partners) managing Private Market fund strategies focused on the MENA and Turkey regions. He has invested in various sectors through the Mezzanine and Private Equity funds he managed, has served on various portfolio company boards and served as member of the investment committees and portfolio management committees for the funds he managed.

Prior to moving to UAE in 2008 to focus on direct investing in the Private Markets, Rashid was an investment banker in the U.S. working for Bank of America’s Global Investment Banking Division where he started in the Leveraged Finance group and subsequently the Consumer & Retail sector coverage group. Rashid started his career in the energy trading sector in Houston, Texas.

Rashid holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business and a BSBA in Accounting and Economics from Drake University.
