Sharif joined Amwal Capital Partners in January 2024 as Partner based in Dubai and Riyadh, leading the private credit practice.

Prior to joining Amwal Capital Partners, Sharif was a portfolio manager at Franklin Templeton in Dubai. At Franklin Templeton, Sharif was responsible for co-managing Sukuk and MENA funds, mandates and institutional accounts, as well as primary responsibility for trading for the strategies. He was also an investment committee member of regional private credit and lead regional transactions since 2016.

Sharif has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, having started his career at TD Securities in Toronto. Sharif joined Franklin Templeton in 2009 as a research analyst where he helped develop the MENA team’s fundamental research process and production before becoming a portfolio manager in 2011. Sharif holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Industrial Engineering and a Master of Mathematical Finance from the University of Toronto.
