Michael Calkin is Co-Founder and Practice Lead of Alvarez & Marsal Private Wealth Partners, where he advises ultra-high-net-worth families, business owners, founders, and family offices on decisions before and after significant wealth creation.

At AMPWP, Michael leads a platform focused on independent advice, wealth planning, investment management, fixed-income portfolio management, fiduciary services, family office support, and coordination with A&M Tax. His work helps clients bring structure to complex balance sheets, including closely held businesses, concentrated positions, trusts, liquidity events, and multigenerational planning needs.

Before co-founding AMPWP, Michael advised wealthy families as a senior private banker at J.P. Morgan and Citi. Earlier in his career, he worked in investment analysis and portfolio management and co-founded Washington Growth Strategies, a multifamily office.

Michael holds a bachelor’s degree from Miami University and an MBA from George Washington University. He has served on the boards of private financial technology companies and is an Associate Founder of the West Palm Beach Golf Park.
