Spencer joined DCVC as a Partner in 2016. His venture capital career dates to 1996, when he joined Integral Capital Partners, a sister firm to Kleiner Perkins, as an Associate. He became a General Partner at Bowman Capital, co-managing the firm’s $1 billion venture program, and was a Partner managing the growth stage fund at Bay Partners. He was the Managing Director of the venture capital fund of funds program at Capital Dynamics, a Swiss-based private equity advisor. Spencer gained operational experience as COO at SnapLogic and Appcel­er­ator, two VC-backed software companies. Spencer received a bachelor’s degree with honors in physical sciences from Harvard University.
