Ankur SethiFounder & Managing Partner at Winner CapitalModerator
Profile
Ankur Sethi is a seasoned entrepreneur and investor with more than 17 years of experience building and scaling consumer technology companies across fintech, healthcare, and consumer internet. Over the course of his career, he has led three businesses from inception to over $100M in annual revenue, with one achieving a valuation above $2B. This operator journey has given him firsthand exposure to the challenges of building in competitive markets, raising and structuring capital, and managing through both high-growth cycles and periods of contraction.
Ankur is the Founder and General Partner of Winner Capital, a Toronto-based early-stage venture fund focused on North American consumer technology. Winner Capital invests in companies at the intersection of commerce, fintech, health, and AI — with a thesis around products that solve everyday pain points for consumers, create durable retention loops, and embed monetization levers that scale with usage. By combining his operator background with an investor’s perspective, Ankur brings a unique ability to identify early signals that can translate into category-defining companies.
Beyond venture investing, Ankur has a deep interest in how capital markets evolve during times of dislocation. Having lived through cycles of expansion and downturn as an operator, he understands how distressed environments can create unexpected opportunities for disciplined investors. He has advised founders, boards, and investors on navigating liquidity crunches, restructuring for resilience, and positioning businesses to capitalize on special situations when markets recover.
Ankur frequently engages with founders, limited partners, and peers on topics ranging from scaling consumer products to structuring investment vehicles. He is particularly passionate about the intersection of operating experience and capital allocation — applying lessons from hyperscaling consumer businesses to the broader investment landscape, including distressed debt and special situations.
