Arjan Schütte is the Founder & Managing Partner of Core Innovation Capital, a leading venture capital fund investing in financial services companies that democratize prosperity. A trusted and experienced venture investor, Core’s thesis reflects Arjan’s passion towards advocating for market-based financial access and empowerment.

Arjan spent a decade as an operator in several venture backed startups as a technology leader, product-manager and CEO, including at Cognitive Concepts (acquired by Houghton Mifflin), and Capella University (now NASDAQ: CPLA) among others. In 2004, he helped start the Financial Health Network, where he is now a Senior Advisor. While there, he began investing in fintech, eventually founding Core in 2009. His investments include Ripple, NerdWallet, PayJoy, Kikoff, Klover, PadSplit, and Atomic.

Arjan has served on over 15 private and public corporate boards, and is the only VC to have served on the CFPB’s Consumer Advisory Board and the Fed’s Consumer Advisory Counsel. Arjan is currently based in Los Angeles, but hails from the Netherlands.
