Profile

Michael Weisz is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Yieldstreet. [MM1] His vision when he started the company in 2015—which remains its guiding principle to this day—is to provide retail investors with access to curated private market alternative investments and make them a fundamental piece of investor portfolios.

The premise underpinning Michael’s vision to create Yieldstreet is that the 60/40 portfolio model is dead, and retail investors need access to private markets, which have traditionally only been available to institutions and a small segment of ultra-wealthy investors.

As such, Yieldstreet stepped in to revolutionize alternative investing for individuals with a user-friendly digital platform that facilitates access to private markets and provides investors with the requisite education to control their investment portfolios. Since inception, the company has helped over 440,000 of its members diversify their portfolios with investments in real estate, private credit, legal finance, art and more. Over $4 billion has been invested through the platform and over $2.2 billion has been returned to investors.

Prior to founding Yieldstreet, Michael held a variety of positions in the specialty finance sector, including Vice President of business development at a New York-based credit opportunities hedge fund and as a Founder and Chief Investment Officer of specialty finance company Soli Capital.

In addition to his leadership at Yieldstreet, Michael is involved in a variety of foundations, including non-profit United Hatzalah. He is also on the board of the Hebrew Academy of Long Beach and the charity boards of the Yieldstreet Foundation and Art Scroll. In his philanthropic work, Michael is committed to growing and developing talent through enhanced education.
