Sharo Atmeh is Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Montauk Capital. Sharo is responsible for evaluating investment prospects, overseeing investment processes and day-to-day operations of the firm including all administrative, compliance, and fund operations. He is a member of the Montauk Capital Venture Fund I Investment Committee.
Prior to Montauk, Sharo built out an energy technology investing platform at Alyeska Investment Group (2018–2024), a $31B+ AUM hedge fund. At Alyeska, Sharo was a Portfolio Manager and among the initial and largest investors in a number of growth-stage public companies spanning all cleantech verticals including solar, hydrogen, wind, energy storage, and utilities. In addition, he ran sustainability integration and engagement programs.
Sharo also helped establish a Fortune 50 sustainability advisory firm and sold it to PJT Partners. Before that he practiced law at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and clerked for a federal judge as well as the SEC. Sharo graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in Political Science, Journalism and Philosophy, an M.P.P. from the Harvard Kennedy School., and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
