Stefanie Claessens-Jansen

Head of Sustainability at EDCO GROUP

Stefanie holds a master’s degree in Fiscal Economics from Tilburg University. She began her career as an international tax adviser at PwC. She spent over 8 years abroad (Hong Kong and America). The various projects, from international tax, education support at the Netherlands Consulate General in Hong Kong to coaching non-profits and supporting a nature center in Pittsburgh, gave a welcome twist to her career. Back in the Netherlands, she specialized in sustainability. After 10 years being a self-employed sustainability consultant, she recently joined Edco, a global trading company in the Netherlands, as the Head of Sustainability. Outside work, Stefanie volunteers for the VBDO (Dutch Association of Investors for Sustainable Development). Already for eight years she is spokesperson on Annual General Meetings of the largest Dutch listed companies to ask questions and call for commitments on ESG themes. Furthermore, she is chair of the Energy Cooperative Meierijstad where she tries to ensure an inclusive energy transition by realizing solar farms and providing the energy at cost to citizens.
