Profile
Stephanie Grayson is Cofounder and Co-CEO of Cambio, a software company using data science and AI to automate energy measurement, reporting and delivery of accretive retrofits for real estate. Stephanie is at the helm of Cambio’s partnerships and commercial efforts, fighting to reduce real estate’s contribution of 40% of global emissions by delivering decarbonization tools to the real estate industry.
Prior to Cambio, Stephanie was a commercial real estate investor, helping to build new real estate verticals at KKR and Goldman Sachs where she invested billions of dollars in global commercial real estate acquisitions and financings.
Stephanie built Cambio in response to her lived experience relying on a manual and expensive approach to implementing sustainability across the multibillion-dollar portfolios. Stephanie and team incubated Cambio with the world’s leading building engineers, data scientists and energy systems experts in Stanford’s real estate and data science labs, where they developed software to help commercial real estate companies and corporate tenants decarbonize their buildings. Cambio is backed by leading investors, including Y-Combinator (a rigorous accelerator accepting fewer than 1.5% of applicants), Fifth Wall, Google and a consortium of the world’s leading real estate executives and venture capital investors.
Stephanie has received recognition across the real estate industry, including as a member of the CREW ESG Council and WX New York Real Estate Scholar.
Stephanie earned an MBA and MS in Energy Systems Engineering & the Sustainable Built Environment at Stanford, with her thesis work dedicated to examining data science’s role in driving sustainability and retrofit adoption across the commercial real estate industry. Stephanie also graduated with Advanced Standing from Harvard in three years.
Stephanie is a proud first-generation Cuban American, and on the board of multiple non-profits dedicated to supporting and educating Cuban entrepreneurs in Havana.
