H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti was appointed as the Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government in 2020. He serves as the Chairman of the UAE Cyber Security Council and Managing Director of the National Data Center, with the mandate to oversee and secure the nation’s cyberspace.
He leads the national cybersecurity strategy, driving the UAE’s digital transformation and establishing the country as a global trusted digital hub. Under his leadership, the UAE ranked #1 in the Global Cybersecurity Index 2024, and achieved several international milestones in cybersecurity capacity-building initiatives.
Dr. Al Kuwaiti has been instrumental in strengthening public-private partnerships and international cooperation, supporting knowledge sharing, capability development, and global cyber resilience. He represents the UAE in key global cybersecurity forums and committees.
He holds a PhD in Computer Engineering and Network Security from George Washington University, along with master’s degrees in Telecommunications & Computer Networks and International & Civil Security. He has spoken globally at major cybersecurity and technology conferences and continues to play a significant role in advancing cybersecurity innovation and awareness in the UAE and beyond.
