Max Sahota is a university lecturer specialising in counter-terrorism policing, drawing on extensive strategic and operational experience gained in various law enforcement agencies in the UK and overseas.
As an Assistant Chief Constable (Specialist Operations), Max was responsible for counter-terrorism policing in South Yorkshire. He had oversight responsibility of the regional counter-terrorism unit (CTU) in the Northeast of England, engaging with the wider national CT network to mitigate risk of harm to the public. He has also worked for the State of Qatar supporting police and military operations in preparation for the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Max holds a professional doctorate in the subject of international police leadership, focused on the Middle East and United Kingdom. He is currently engaged in the curriculum design of courses to develop high quality teaching products for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Max supervises student research in policing, criminology and related disciplines, integrating academic theory with professional policing practice.
As a qualified Executive Coach, Max provides academic guidance, mentoring, and pastoral support to students. He is also responsible for formative and summative assessment procedures, including marking and grading of student performance.
