Since leaving the public sector, Dr Roche has worked as an economist and consultant, advising global banks, and government agencies, including UNCTAD, on aspects of agribusiness, principally technology, investment, trade, valuation and financial modelling.
His career in training commenced in 1998 and he regularly presents seminars worldwide on a range of agribusiness and financial topics. He has presented agribusiness seminars to for example to Sovereign Wealth Funds in the Middle East.
Amongst his other qualifications, Dr. Roche holds a first-class degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and a PhD in agricultural risk management policy from Deakin University. He is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the Agriculture Department of the University of Western Australia.
He has also published a number of articles and books on trade, commodities and finance, including on commodity derivatives, commodity forecasting, Agribusiness Investment Modelling and most recently on International Agribusiness, which is going into its 2nd edition.
