Dr. Hayato Kawai is a Research Associate of Process Chemistry at Sumitomo Chemical, where he is in charge of process optimization, scale up, and analytical development of long RNA to manufacture under GMP conditions. Hayato obtained his doctor degree in 2023 in biomolecular engineering from Nagoya University, Japan, where he developed an orientation-dependent FRET system and used it to analyze the structures of natural and unnatural nucleic acids, as well as to experimentally elucidate energy migration between the identical chromophores (homo FRET).
