Dr. Lars Geiger; Global Director of Project Management Drug Substance at Evonik’s Health Care product line. Has been working in Evonik’s pharma CDMO business line in different R&D and project management roles in Germany and the USA for more than18 years. Organic chemist by training, received the diploma from the University of Cologne and graduated at the University of Würzburg in 2004 in the group of Prof. Dr. Carsten Schmuck, in the field of bioorganic chemistry. Afterwards, he conducted a postdoctoral stay at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston, USA, in the group of Prof. Dr. Timothy M. Swager, where he worked on conduction polymers.

In his career he led various large pharma projects at Evonik including the development of the lipid production for BioNTech. In his current role, he is heading the customer project management organization in the drug product CDMO business, focusing on Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturing.
