Profile

As President & Chief Executive Officer, Alan is responsible for the development and execution of Knightstone’s growth and development strategies. Alan oversees the management of all current assets with a particular focus on acquisitions, partnership development and operational performance. Alan is also responsible for managing banking and investor relationships. Working with the executive leadership, Alan provides the creative vision at both the corporate and asset levels. Prior to joining Knightstone over 10 years ago, Alan was co-founder and President of Livia Capital Management, a strategic advisory and asset management business focused on the real estate, hospitality and private equity markets for high-net-worth investors and entrepreneurial corporations.

Alan has gained financial and operational experience working in both Canada and the United States. Alan has previously held roles as Vice President at Rose Private Equity as well as an investment banking analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse First Boston. Alan also held a management position at Starwood Hotels and Resorts in the Corporate and Strategic Development group and gained turnaround and crisis management experience in New York as an associate at GDL Management. Alan is actively involved in a variety of hotel related advisory boards including: the Marriott Owners Advisory Board and the Sheraton North American Advisory Board. Alan is Member of the Board of Directors of the Toronto JCC and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University.
