Brian Hill is the Founder and Executive Chair of Aritzia and has served on the company’s Board since 2005. A third-generation retailer, Mr. Hill has led Aritzia since the Hill family opened its first store in Vancouver in 1984. Under his leadership, the company has continued to grow its retail footprint — now over 130 locations across North America — while also launching a highly successful eCommerce business. An accomplished retailer, merchant, creative director, and corporate strategist, Mr. Hill’s vision and expertise have shaped Aritzia’s brand and driven significant growth. He remains deeply involved in all aspects of the business. Recognized for his creative and business acumen as well as his philanthropy, Mr. Hill was inducted into the Business Laureates of British Columbia Hall of Fame (2024) and has received numerous accolades, including the Fraser Institute Founder’s Award (2022), the Henry Singer Award for Retail Excellence from the University of Alberta (2013), and the Distinguished Retailer of the Year from the Retail Council of Canada (2012). He was also named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® for the Pacific Region (2008).
