Karen Jalon is Vice President, Climate & Sustainability at Cadillac Fairview, where she leads the team responsible for sustainability across one of Canada's largest commercial real estate portfolios. Her mandate spans both operations and finance: embedding decarbonization, energy cost management, and technology deployment into asset performance, and delivering ESG data, analytics, and investor-grade disclosure.

Karen has helped shape the standards commercial real estate is governed by, serving on industry committees behind globally adopted ESG benchmarks and as a past member of Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan's Responsible Investment Committee. Her background combines electrical engineering, development, construction, and sustainability policy, including the delivery of some of Canada's first LEED-certified projects. She holds an Electrical Engineering degree from Queen's University.
