As one of the key leaders within the grocery space leading corporate retail real estate in Canada, Mark Eaton is Senior Vice President, Real Estate & Construction for Empire Company Limited and its wholly owned subsidiary, Sobeys Inc. Mark is responsible for developing and championing the national real estate strategy, key stakeholder relationships and the execution of all brick-and-mortar capital projects within the organization.

Mark is an experienced senior leader in many aspects of corporate real estate including development, transactions, construction & design.

Prior to joining Sobeys Inc., Mark spent 23 years with Recipe Unlimited Corporation in progressive roles with the last seven serving as their Chief Development Officer.

At Sobeys Inc., Mark is responsible for leading the Real Estate Development and Design, Construction and Facilities teams as the Company reinvents the grocery shopping experience for customers, including the innovative Customer Fulfillment Centers for e-commerce and the expansion of the Discount format in Western & Atlantic Canada. Mark also manages the key partnership between Sobeys Inc. and Crombie REIT.

Mark holds a degree in Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Guelph.
