Agenda highlights for 2024 included:

Implications & scope of Amount B (Pillar 1)

Amount B of Pillar 1 has received relatively little attention, while the merits of Amount A and the intricacies of Pillar 2 have been debated over the last two years. With Amount B now expected to be implemented in the OECD transfer pricing guidelines in early 2024, we will provide an overview of the key concepts of Amount B, discuss and debate the pros & cons of unresolved issues, and consider the potential impact for both marketing & distribution operations and other transactions.

Understanding the revenue authorities’ approach to TP audits

This session provides a unique dialogue opportunity between revenue authorities and taxpayers. Tax authorities will explain how they see the transfer pricing landscape and give an important insight into critical issues such as: tax audit methodologies, the role of exchange of information networks, tools & systems, which cases to litigate or settle, and much more.

Global transfer pricing controversy & litigation trends

The ever increasing complexity of the transfer pricing landscape as well as ongoing reform of international tax systems will make the management of TP controversies and disputes a constant for in-house professionals. This panel comes together to identify both new and known risk areas for taxpayers, and to compare notes on he dispute minimization strategies all corporations should be looking to consider.

Challenges of latest TP guidance on financial transactions

This industry panel will examine how the 2022 OECD Financial Transactions Transfer Pricing (FTTP) Guidance is currently being applied and what challenges it presents to transfer pricing specialists since its introduction. Our expert panelists will look at tax authority attitudes towards interpretation and application of the guidelines and analyse its practical impact on funding structures for treasury functions and investment managers.

The rise of sustainability & ESG in taxation & the transfer pricing function

A diverse range of key stakeholders will come together to cast light on how the tax and TP function can advance the global sustainability & ESG agenda, which is fast becoming one of the most important Board-level issues for MNEs. Panelists will look at this topic in the round and from multiple angles, focusing on three main areas: Taxpayer responsibility, transparency and sustainability reporting; environmental taxation and the green agenda.

Operational TP & managing multiple reporting requirements

This session will explore best practices and ideas for tax functions that are looking to allocate their resources to respond successfully to a rapidly evolving global tax and TP landscape. Specific areas of discussion will include data management, TP implementation and automation, global documentation strategies, CbCR/Pillar 2, and analytical tools for strategic planning.
