Justice Pizzitelli graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1980 and was called to the bar in 1982 by the Law Society of Upper Canada now Ontario.. In 2001 Justice Pizzitelli was awarded his Masters degree in Taxation law from Osgoode Hall Law school. Justice Pizzitelli had worked for 28 years in both large and small law firms and was a sole practitioner at the time of his appointment, practicing in the areas of taxation and corporate commercial law. Justice Pizzitelli specialized in corporate reorganizations, estate planning and succession law and lectured extensively on these and general tax topics at various colleges and |universities and well as in continuing education forums for the Ontario and |Canadian Bar Associations and the Law Society. Justice Pizzitelli was appointed a justice to the Tax Court of Canada on June 18, 2009 . Since then , in addition to his normal duties, he has lectured at various national and international forums, obtained certifications from the University of Leiden in International Tax including Treaties and Transfer Pricing and has served as an adjunct professor at the University of British Columbia and University of Victoria law schools. After 15 years of service he will be retiring from the Tax Court of Canada in a few months time.
