Educated at Osgoode Hall Law School (LL.B. 1980, LL.M. (Tax Law) 2001). Called to the Bar of Ontario in 1982. Lectured on tax law topics at various colleges and universities, involved in continuing education forums offered by the Ontario and Canadian Bar Associations and the Law Society of Upper Canada, director of Ontario Chamber of Commerce, President of the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce, President of the Rotary Club of Orillia, director on numerous boards of directors of charities and non profit organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orillia, Georgian Bay chapter of Canadian Association of Family Enterprises, Orillia Economic Development Council. Co-authored Doing Business in Canada, CCH and numerous articles on Succession Planning. Appointed Judge of the Tax Court of Canada on June 19, 2009. Adjunct law professor at the University of British Columbia and University of Victoria.
