Shika Soni is the Head of Legal for EMEA at Principal Asset Management overseeing the legal and company secretarial activities of nine regulated companies. PGI, a US headquartered firm has over $600 billion under management with offices in 19 countries.
Prior to PGI, Shika spent seven years with The Royal London Group managing the legal workload of its wholly owned subsidiary, Royal London Asset Management (RLAM). During this time RLAM grew its AUM from £40 billion to over £100 billion and it significantly expanded its funds and investments capabilities.
Shika spent eight years in private practice working on both sides of the Atlantic, including a period in New York within the corporate finance team of Katten Muchin Rosenman.
She also worked in the dynamic corporate department of Mishcon de Reya, where she played an integral part in a wide variety of transactions including: Mergers and Acquisitions, Fund Formations, Private Equity and Listings on the LSE, Euronext and AIM markets for prestigious corporate and entrepreneurial clients.
An Alumnus of City University where she gained a Law LLB(Hons) degree, Shika remains a Member of the New York State Bar and she successfully completed the CFA’s Investment Management Certificate (1).
Shika sits on the Legal Committee at the Investment Association, plays an active role in Government Affairs and contributes to discussion about a variety of topics affecting the investment and funds management sector in Europe.
