Julia Dieckmann has more than 15 years of experience in ESG and Sustainable Finance. As Head of Sustainable Finance Policy at Deutsche Bank she is responsible for the dialogue with political and regulatory stakeholders on Sustainable Finance developments, builds the bank’s positions and actively contributes to the work of trade associations. She is also Co-Chair of the AFME Sustainable Finance Steering Committee.
Julia began her career at Deutsche Bank’s Sustainability department in 2005 where she was responsible for non-financial reporting, ESG ratings and NGO dialogue. As Investor Relations Manager she was for many years globally responsible for the communication with institutional investors on the bank’s sustainability strategy, corporate governance, opportunities and risks. In her previous role as Deputy Communications Business Partner she was deeply involved in the bank’s financial and strategy communication, but also developed an innovative thought leadership hub on the impact of the pandemic on sustainability.
During her studies in Literature and Modern History at Freiburg University in Germany and at King’s College London she specialized in World War II and graduated with an M.A. and PhD from Freiburg University. She wrote an award-winning book on a German World War II general who was part of the resistance against Hitler.
