Profile

Dr. Liz Wilks has a depth of knowledge in paper, packaging, supply chain management, and sustainability, with more than twenty years of industry experience at an International level. Her experience includes both private sector and academia.

Liz’s current role as European Sustainability & Stakeholder Director at Asia Pulp & Paper (APP), involves strategy development as well as communications with stakeholders, media, and customers on APP’s operations including the continued development of the business’ zero deforestation commitments. APP’s Vision 2030, focusses on 3 main pillars – production, forest and people and are aligned with the SDGs. APP recently won the World Finance Sustainability Awards for the most sustainable company in the Paper & Packaging Sector, by World Finance Magazine. APP was selected from hundreds of companies for displaying an alignment with the Paris Climate Agreement, CDP, UN Global Compact and UN SDGs.

In addition to Liz’s current role and her previous role as Global CSR director at Antalis International, Liz has always been involved in industry movements & regulation. Examples of these range from The European Timber Regulations, the EU regulation on Deforestation Free Products to PEFC (international forestry scheme) as well as The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF), on The Human Rights Coalition working group – working to end forced labour, as well as the Sustainable Supply Chain Initiative (SSCI). Liz is also a senior lecturer/supervisor across Europe in CSR and International Management/ Sourcing, and sits on various Advisory Boards inc. The Business and Management Faculty at University of West England (Bristol) and the MSC Climate Justice at Glasgow Caledonian University. Liz is also launching a series of children’s books connecting the younger generation around the world to where food and other products come from.
