Matthew is a Maltese lawyer with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from Bocconi University, Milan. He was trained at Deloitte, having been part of the Tax & Legal team within the Malta firm for several years.

Now at Camilleri Preziosi Advocates, Matthew focuses on capital markets and sustainable finance, advising issuers of debt and equity securities on their regulatory obligations under local and EU sustainable finance frameworks. He played an active role in supporting the Malta Financial Services Authority with the implementation of the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation in Malta, giving him direct insight into the challenges investment firms and insurers face when integrating ESG risks into investment processes.

Matthew is currently collaborating with the Malta Financial Services Advisory Council on revamping Malta’s green bond framework, with the aim of making it more accessible and attractive to both issuers and investors. He regularly contributes to industry discussions on sustainable finance and ESG regulation, including speaking engagements and publications on the evolving EU regulatory landscape.

Beyond his professional advisory work, Matthew is a modest but engaged investor with a keen interest in financial markets, regularly analyzing issuers and listed securities globally, within the context of his own investment strategies.
