AFME's European Sustainable Finance Conference
Enabling capital markets to finance the transition
Join 250+ of Europe's major banks and capital markets firms shaping their sustainability products and practices
The most influential sustainable finance policy setters and market leaders spoke in 2026:
Energy security and energy transition
Europe's energy transition is taking place against a rapidly shifting geopolitical backdrop.
Energy security, competitiveness, decarbonisation and resilience are increasingly interconnected, and capital markets have a crucial role to play in financing the significant investment needed.
Now in its sixth year, AFME's two-day programme explores how banks are working with clients and policymakers to meet investment needs and how policy and innovative financing structures can enable finance to flow. The agenda is arranged around three core themes:
• Delivering the energy transition and decarbonisation
• Financing adaptation and resilience
• Regulation, data and risk
New sessions for 2027 include
- Financing Europe’s power system: grids, generation and rising demand
- Industrial decarbonisation and clean tech: creating bankable transition opportunities
- Carbon markets and industrial decarbonisation: can carbon pricing mobilise investment?
- Making resilience financeable
- A Chief Sustainability Officers' panel
- Exploring the future for sustainable finance regulation
