Prof. Ali El-Keblawy is a distinguished expert in sustainable agriculture, desert ecology, and plant stress physiology. He is currently a professor at the University of Sharjah, where he leads research on food security, biodiversity conservation, and climate-resilient agriculture. His work focuses on the ecophysiology of native and invasive plants, particularly on xerophytes, halophytes, and desert restoration strategies.

Prof. El-Keblawy has published extensively in high-impact scientific journals and has secured multiple research grants, including projects on nano-biochar applications, DNA barcoding for crop improvement, and sustainable agricultural practices in arid environments. His current research integrates remote sensing, AI, and hydrology to enhance food production in water-scarce regions, aligning with West Asia’s agricultural sustainability goals.

With extensive experience in regional environmental challenges and innovations, Prof. El-Keblawy actively contributes to policy discussions and applied research to develop climate-adaptive solutions for food security in arid ecosystems.
