Dr. Ameena Al Tenaiji is a freelance expert in the Water-Food Nexus with a strong background in geology, hydrology, and civil engineering. She holds degrees from Kuwait University, the University of South Carolina, and Brunel University London. She is a member of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM), a fellow of Arab Women Leaders in Agriculture (AWLA), and a founding member of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture Club chaired by Sheikh Ahmed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan.
Passionate about conserving the UAE’s scarce natural resources, especially water, Dr. Ameena has dedicated her expertise to developing and demonstrating sustainable, resource-efficient food production models in arid regions. She emphasises integrated farming systems, water conservation, and climate-resilient agriculture. Today, her work centers on knowledge-sharing and collaboration with farmers, scholars, and universities, bridging science, education, and practice to advance local sustainability and empower future generations.
