Espen, a Norwegian national based in Dubai, is a Business Development Director at DNV, a global assurance and advisory firm. With over a decade in the GCC, Espen brings a broad professional background. In his current role, Espen has two main areas of focus where one is Sustainability, ESG & Supply Chain across a wide range of industries; and the other is Ocean Health and Aquaculture.

Prior to DNV, Espen served as the Commercial Counsellor for the GCC at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and led the Innovation Norway Middle Eastern office. In this role Espen focused on promoting sustainable solutions from Norway to the GCC market within sectors such as Maritime, Energy and Aquaculture. This diplomatic experience gave him deep insight into advancing sustainability in the region.

Espen’s career includes experience from the aviation sector, audit and advisory, commercial and investment banking, diplomacy, business development and different board member roles.

He holds a Master of Science from the Norwegian School of Economics with a minor in Entrepreneurship from Wits Business School in Johannesburg.
