Roya Mokhtabad is a Senior Programme Manager specialising in regenerative agriculture, food security, and sustainable agrifood systems across the MENAT region. Currently leading the MENAT Regenerative Agriculture Initiative at Goumbook, she has forged strategic partnerships with UNCCD, MEWA, ADAFSA, UNU, FAO, CGIAR and the Saudi Green Initiative to drive innovation in climate-resilient agriculture.
As a facilitator for the FAO-SFDA Food Safety Hackathon, Roya brings expertise in stakeholder engagement, policy advocacy, and startup incubation, supporting the Regional Food Safety Research and Innovation Network (RFRIN).
With extensive experience at COP28 UAE, Dubai Cares and UNDGC, Roya has a proven track record in high-level project facilitation, cross-sector collaboration, and impact-driven programming.
Roya holds a Master's degree in Diplomacy and Foreign Policy from City Law School London and a BSc in International Political Economy from Cass Business School, and has completed executive education programs in Negotiation from the London School of Economics, Communication for Sustainability Leaders from the University of Maryland. Her academic background compliments her practical experience in sustainable development, policy-making, and agrifood systems innovation.
