Mr. Sultan Salem Saif Al Shamsi brings over 26 years of professional experience across multiple sectors, including agricultural value chains, integrated operations management, project management, institutional transformation, agri-tech, government relations, and agricultural finance. Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions in several prominent national institutions and has made a significant impact on the development of the agricultural sector in the UAE—particularly in the areas of date production, smart agriculture, and sustainability.

Before assuming his current role as Director of the National Agricultural Center, Mr. Al Shamsi served as Executive Director of Supply Chain and International Import at Al Foah – part of Agthia Group. There, he oversaw the reception of more than 100,000 tons of dates from over 20,000 local farmers through an extensive network of receiving centers, supported by a workforce of over 1,200 employees. He also managed the import of approximately 50,000 tons of dates from major date-producing countries to meet the company’s manufacturing and export needs.

Mr. Al Shamsi is recognized as one of the leading experts in managing government support programs for agriculture and farmer classification. He has built a strategic network of relationships with both local and international partners. He has also collaborated with national universities such as the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence to develop smart solutions for palm classification and improve agricultural production efficiency.
