The story of Frédéric Frédéric actually comes from the fashion industry, where famous designers brought his high-quality wool to life on the catwalk. But then a series of events happened that forced Frédéric to reflect on himself and his role in society: on true values and his relationship with the environment and nature. He turned his back on the jet-set lifestyle and moved back to his home, a village of 200 souls in the Haute-Marne in France. There he met a shepherd and learnt that wool, once a coveted and valuable raw material, had been degraded to ‘waste’. Fred decided to do something about this waste and began his research. Finally, he found a sheep farmer who inspired him so much with his positive, optimistic and humane manner that Frédéric dedicated himself to the ‘adventure of sheep wool pellets’ from then on and founded Fertifred®.
